Latino Voters Help Propel President Obama to a Second Term
Tuesday, November 13, 2012

According to the results of an impreMedia-Latino Decisions Poll released on Tuesday, November 6, approximately 75 percent of Latino voters across the nation voted for President Obama in this month’s closely contested presidential election. The results point to an increasingly diverse nation in which growing numbers of Latino voters in key swing states and around the country are profoundly changing the electoral map.

Despite this election cycle’s emphasis on unemployment and the economy, polls shows that Latino voters are keenly attuned to candidates’ stance on immigration and overwhelmingly supported President Obama in part because of his administration’s deferred action policy and Governor Romney’s support for “self-deportation” during the Republican primaries.
