Annabel Mace

Professional Biography

Annabel Mace is a partner specialising in all aspects of employment and immigration law and leads our UK Business Immigration team (part of our Labour & Employment Practice Group). She has more than 18 years' experience in advising businesses across a range of sectors with in-depth expertise in the employment and immigration aspects of bringing staff to the UK. Annabel has a particular interest in the overlap between immigration and employment law, and regularly advises businesses in relation to immigration compliance, the prevention of illegal working and defending Home Office sanctions.

Annabel advises businesses on all aspects of the Home Office’s Points Based System, particularly in relation to applying for Tier Two sponsor licences and complex immigration compliance issues arising out of corporate restructures, mergers and acquisitions. She also has extensive experience in the employment and immigration aspects of transferring staff outside the UK, working with employment and immigration specialists from our international offices, as well as a network of trusted best-in-class external counsel.

Annabel has been advising employers on the implications of Brexit since before the referendum, including guidance on recruitment and retention strategies in the face of future skills shortages. She has a particular interest in the impact of Brexit on future immigration policy and regularly contributes to consultation exercises on the issue including those of the Economic Affairs Committee of the House of Lords, the All Party Parliamentary Group on Migration and the Migration Advisory Committee.

Annabel speaks regularly at seminars and workshops as part of the Labour & Employment Practice’s national seminar programme, as well as at bespoke client training sessions. She is also an updating author for immigration matters on the employment law website XpertHR.
