Brian Tompkins is senior counsel in Bracewell's technology practice. His practice focuses on patent prosecution, patent portfolio analysis, and client counseling. Brian’s experience covers a wide range of technologies, including software, Internet applications, semiconductor fabrication, smartphones and personal computers, process control, medical devices, and oilfield equipment. Additionally, Brian has advised clients on product development strategies and has provided opinions of counsel and patent landscape analyses. He currently serves clients in the software, computer, and petroleum industries.

Prior to his legal career, Brian spent several years working in the enterprise software and information technology industries.
