  • Chris joined Poyner Spruill from the North Carolina Attorney General's Office where he served as Director of North Carolina's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit for 17 years.  He is regarded as one of the region's most experienced advisors on healthcare enforcement matters.  His private practice focuses on assisting clients with complex criminal and civil matters regarding healthcare reimbursement, Medicaid and Medicare compliance, internal investigations, and responses to government investigations and enforcement actions. 

    He has served as the National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Unit’s Team Leader resulting in recovery of over $200 million for state Medicaid programs and as a Deputy Attorney General and Special Assistant US Attorney, represented the state and federal government in numerous criminal and civil false claims cases.
