Erin C. Horton

Professional Biography

Erin Horton is an associate and litigation attorney with Foley & Lardner LLP. Ms. Horton defends employers in litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies against a broad spectrum of labor and employment-related claims, including discrimination and retaliation, breach of employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and unfair labor practices. Ms. Horton also focuses on risk assessment and preventive counseling on wage and hour and leave issues, employment policies, employee discipline and termination, and compliance with the National Labor Relations Act. She additionally works with clients to draft effective, enforceable employment agreements, restrictive covenants, separation agreements, and policy statements.

Ms. Horton gained experience as a law clerk for the Honorable Stephen J. Fortunato and the Honorable Sara Taft-Carter of the Rhode Island Superior Court, where she researched and drafted decisions and bench memoranda and advised the presiding judge on the civil dispositive motion calendar.

Prior to her legal career, Ms. Horton was a senior account manager for a Boston-based consulting firm where she provided government relations and non-profit development consulting services.
