Jason Walton practices in the area of taxation with a focus on transactions that produce federal and state tax credits. Mr. Walton represents investors and companies in connection with their tax credit investment activities, including renewable energy, rehabilitation, affordable housing and historic tax credits. In addition, his practice includes transfers of business interests involving REMICs. His practice also encompasses the tax aspects of real estate financings, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings and restructurings, fund formations, financing structures, and tax credits.

Mr. Walton also represents mortgage portfolio servicers and successor borrowers in connection with defeasances, assumptions, and transfers of commercial mortgage loans.
