  • John A. Giunco is the chairman of the Real Estate, Land Use and Development Practice Area and devotes his practice to the acquisition, development, sale and financing of real estate. Mr. Giunco has substantial background in business law and real property taxation. He advises clients with regard to the acquisition of land, its suitability for development, and methods of sale and financing. His experience includes the preparation and formation of the various business entities individually suited for the client's needs.

    A significant portion of his practice is devoted to the representation of developers before municipal, county and state agencies to receive developmental permits and approvals. He has experience in tracking development of land from its acquisition through to the issuance of final building permits. Mr. Giunco has structured significant and complex transactions of substantial value with unique financing criteria. He conducts litigation challenging development regulations, along with litigation to compel the issuance of permitting and developmental approvals.

    In the area of renewable energy, Mr. Giunco has been involved with solar, wind and co-generation facilities in projects throughout New Jersey. He has prepared and presented zoning applications for utility scale solar projects and has consulted with, and lobbied for and obtained, zoning amendments from municipalities in order to accommodate clients’ projects.
