John P. Sieger is the national head of Katten's Insolvency and Restructuring practice. He has been involved in many high profile insolvency proceedings throughout the country, including the bankruptcy proceedings of the Chicago Tribune, Exide Technologies, Conseco, United Airlines, Sentinel Management Group, Monitor Consulting Group, South Texas Oil, TLC Vision, Montgomery Ward, Thornburg Mortgage, Inc. and Cadence Innovation.

John has represented debtors and creditors in fields from automotive supply to financial services to energy for more than 20 years. He has resolved hundreds of reorganization cases, both in adversarial proceedings and out-of-court workouts. His litigation experience extends to a variety of federal courts from the district and circuit levels all the way to the US Supreme Court, where Katten represented the larger of two senior lenders in In re RadLAX, the landmark case in which the Court unanimously endorsed credit-bid rights in bankruptcy plans.
