Julia is an Associate in the firm's Boston office, practicing in the Corporate & Securities Section.
Prior to joining Mintz Levin, Julia worked as a legal intern at a national investment firm in the intellectual property and licensing group. She was also a senior litigation clerk for the Hon. Amy W. McCulloch of the Richland County Probate Court of Columbia, South Carolina, and a Summer Associate at Mintz Levin in 2006. From January through May 2007, Julia was a legal intern at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Office of Sponsored Programs, where she drafted sponsored research agreements, intellectual property and nondisclosure agreements, and assisted in the agreement negotiation process.
During her last semester of law school, Julia was honored with the Yacos Prize, a national award for exceptional merit in business law. She authored "An Overview of Technology Transfer Practices in India, as of 2007," published in the December 2007 issue of the Licensing Executives Society journal Les Nouvelles and "Patent Misuse: What University Licensors Need to Know to Avoid Falling into the Patent Misuse Trap," published on the University of New Hampshire School of Law IP Mall.
Julia is admitted to practice in Massachusetts. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, and M.A. at the University of South Carolina in International Relations and Spanish (2002 and 2004), and her J.D. , magna cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (2007). There, she focused on business and intellectual property law and was a member of the Licensing Executives Society, the International Trademark Association, and Student Intellectual Property Law Association. She was also a teaching and research assistant for Prof. William Murphy, conducting research on structured finance and intellectual property securitization transactions. Julia is fluent in Romanian and Spanish and has a working knowledge of French and Italian.
