Leslie J. Lao is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Tax Practice. Ms. Lao focuses her practice on the resolution of state and local tax issues affecting corporations, partnerships, and individuals. Her areas of focus include state and local income and franchise taxes, sales and use taxes, gross receipts taxes, entity-level taxes, telecommunications taxes, and real estate transfer taxes. 

Ms. Lao has advised clients on a wide variety of multistate tax issues, including controversy, planning, and compliance matters. She has represented clients at the audit and administrative levels in various state and local tax jurisdictions. She has also assisted clients requesting advisory rulings, voluntary disclosure agreements, penalty abatements, and amnesties.
