  • Norman B. Newman, Chair of the firm's Creditors' Rights, Insolvency & Bankruptcy group and head of the Financial Crisis Response Team, has served as a member of the Private Panel of Bankruptcy Trustees for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division for more than 25 years. Norm has represented debtors, creditors, creditors' committees and bankruptcy trustees in all phases of proceedings under the Bankruptcy Code. He also has extensive experience handling reorganizations, in-court and out-of-court loan workouts, creditor compositions, liquidations, assignments for the benefit of creditors and various other matters involving financial distress.
