Philip Markowitz, a Member of Sills Cummis & Gross, has extensive experience in many aspects of commercial real estate. In general, he has considerable experience, on a national basis, with respect to shopping center acquisitions, sales and financings, retail leasing on behalf of various categories of retailers, hotel acquisitions and development, construction of “flex space” and mixed-use properties, and New York-based office leasing. Mr. Markowitz represents several prominent REITs, as well as their opportunity fund partners, in shopping center acquisitions throughout the country. He is also actively representing a major warehouse retailer in its expansion and development throughout the Northeast. Recently, Mr. Markowitz has been actively representing one of the largest owners of shopping centers in the U.S. regarding all aspects of its acquisition and disposition program, including related financing matters and the assumption of securitized debt.
He received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Rutgers College in 1993 and his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1997. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.
