Robert C. Folland is a partner in the Columbus office of Barnes & Thornburg where he is a member of the firm’s Finance, Insolvency and Restructuring Department. Mr. Folland focuses his practice on business matters including litigation, restructuring, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy for financial institutions, debtors and creditors’ committees. He has additional experience assisting clients with state court receiverships and out of court business restructurings.

Among his litigation experience, Mr. Folland has represented national mortgage servicers against class action allegations in the context of forced-placed insurance claims, failure to honor oral modification of loan payment terms and in context of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. He has also represented mortgage servicers and financial institutions in litigation concerning the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act and Truth in Lending Act.

Mr. Folland has been widely recognized for his practice. Since 2013, he has been selected by his peers for recognition in Ohio Super Lawyers. Since 2009, he has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America publication. Since 2007, he has been selected by his colleagues and clients for inclusion in Chambers USA in the area of Ohio Bankruptcy and Restructuring.
