Scott’s insurance coverage litigation practice focuses largely on medical and legal professional liability claims as well as general liability claims involving environmental contamination, mass torts, product liability, construction defects and a wide range of catastrophic events. Scott also frequently defends insurance companies against “Bad Faith” claims.
In addition, Scott has significant experience representing professionals (especially attorneys), professional organizations, corporations and local governmental entities against a wide variety of negligence, fraud, contract and employment discrimination claims.
Before entering private practice, Scott was an Assistant General Counsel for the Chicago Housing Authority’s Office of the General Counsel. Scott represented the Authority and its employees in litigation involving diverse premises claims (including lead paint exposure) and civil rights claims of use of excessive force by the Authority’s police officers.
Scott practices nationally and has obtained excellent litigation results at the trial court and appellate level throughout the country, particularly in Illinois.Scott has a nationwide litigation practice primarily focused on claims involving insurance coverage, professional negligence, general negligence and commercial disputes.
