Valerie A. Hamilton is Of Counsel to the Sills Cummis & Gross Creditors’ Rights/Bankruptcy Reorganization Practice Group. Ms. Hamilton represents Chapters 7 and 11 trustees, Chapter 11 debtors and creditor committees, and secured and unsecured creditors in Chapters 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases and workout matters. She has significant experience in litigating complex matters in state and federal courts, including fraudulent transfer and preference actions, non-dischargeability suits, DIP financing and use of cash collateral, Chapter 11 plan negotiation, contested confirmation hearings, and enforcement of creditors’ rights under the Uniform Commercial Code, the Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act and state receivership laws. Ms. Hamilton also represents creditors in the collection of debts, including post-judgment collection and enforcement actions in state and federal courts.
Ms. Hamilton served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Rosemary Gambardella, former Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of New Jersey, and the Honorable Joseph H. Rodriguez, Senior District Judge of the United States District Court, District of New Jersey.
