William R. Stuart III is Of Counsel in the Firm’s Litigation Department. Mr. Stuart’s practice concentrates on product liability and commercial litigation. He has served as member of several national counsel teams successfully defending various pharmaceutical and medical device companies in numerous high-profile product liability litigations. This experience has included defending a medical device manufacturer in the transvaginal mesh litigation, defending a pharmaceutical company in personal injury cases involving a drug used to treat Parkinson’s disease, defending a pharmaceutical company in the phenylpropanolamine (PPA) litigation, defending two medical device manufacturers in the latex glove litigation and representing a pharmaceutical company in a putative class action involving an anti-arrhythmic drug. Mr. Stuart’s responsibilities in these litigations have included coordinating and preparing fact discovery, implementing defense strategies, working with local counsel and national co-defense counsel, preparing fact witnesses and experts, conducting depositions of plaintiffs and treating physicians, preparing dispositive motions, trial preparation and generally overseeing the litigation.
