Coming Into Compliance with the Department of Labor’s New Overtime Pay Regulations
Seminar, Hosted By Michael Best & Friedrich LLP
Wednesday, June 29, 2016 - 3:00 PM
On May 18, 2016, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) released its much anticipated “Final Rule” regarding overtime pay eligibility for certain “white collar” employees. Affecting an estimated 4.2 million workers, the new regulations more than double the minimum salary level required to satisfy the executive, administrative and professional exemptions. In order to come into compliance with the regulations by December 1, 2016, employers will need to carefully analyze their job classifications and make significant decisions likely to impact budgets and employee morale.
In this seminar, we will outline the Final Rule, covering:
-
Requirements of the DOL’s new overtime pay regulations and their impact upon use of the executive, administrative and professional exemptions
-
Changes to the highly compensated employee exemption
-
Practical advice for ensuring compliance with the new overtime pay regulations
-
Strategies for communicating changes to affected employees
There is no cost to attend this seminar, but space is limited. We will apply for CLE credit in Wisconsin, Illinois, Utah, Texas and Virginia (if applicable). The program is valid for Professional Development Credits for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM, and PHR/SPHR credit will be available.
