This webinar will focus on the terms and meaning of the new "Privacy Shield" agreement intended to replace the EU-U.S. Safe Harbor, with an emphasis on what is practical for U.S. companies in this uncertain legal and political environment. It will begin with background on the agreement and next steps in its implementation, and then focus on the substantive requirements of the program, and the intersection between the program and the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Commerce. The Privacy Shield requirements will be contrasted with both the old Safe Harbor provisions and other currently accepted alternatives.
