Privacy issues invoke strong emotions. Privacy and security breaches can cause economic damage.  Your privacy policy declares how your business collects, uses, stores, and releases personal information.  It is the most public-facing aspect of your broader privacy and security program.  Getting your online privacy policy right – and abiding by it – are important to dealing with broader privacy and security issues.  We will discuss the legal requirements for online privacy policies and what to consider when drafting them.  We will also discuss the potential consequences of failing to abide by such policies, and provide sample policy provisions.
