July 15 Meeting

The Mississippi Gaming Commission held its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. at the Jackson office. Executive Director Allen Godfrey, Chairman Al Hopkins, and Commissioners Franc Lee (by phone) and Tom Gresham all participated. The following matters were considered:

LICENSING

The Commission approved the issuance of licenses to the following:

• American Wagering Inc. d/b/a William Hill Race and Sports Book, as a Manufacturer and Distributor

• SBTech Malta Limited, as a Manufacturer and Distributor

FINDINGS OF SUITABILITY

The Commission approved findings of suitability for the following persons or entities:

• Colin Richard Skidmore – Lighthouse Point, LLC 

• Jason Roy deGrandmaison – Modern Gaming, Inc.

• Recommendation Regarding Work Permit Hearing Held and Decision Rendered on March 4, 2021 – Edward Beale vs. MGM Resorts, Inc. d/b/a Goldstrike Casino Resort, MGC No. 20-00203 (ND). The Commissioners voted to accept the decision and findings of the hearing officer.

• Recommendation Regarding Player Dispute Held and Decision Rendered on March 4, 2021 – Edward Leach vs. IOC Lula d/b/a Isle of Capri Hotel Lula, MGC No. 20-00175 (ND). The Commissioners voted to accept the decision and findings of the hearing officer.

• Recommendation Regarding Work Permit Hearing Held and Decision Rendered on June 3, 2021 – Sharonica Singleton. The Commissioners voted to accept the decision and findings of the hearing officer.

APPROVAL OF NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

While the Commission announced previously its intention to select Deputy Director Jay McDaniel as the next Executive Director, the Commission formally appointed Jay McDaniel to the post, effective upon the retirement of current Executive Director Allen Godfrey.
