Austin serves as a lobbyist. He tracks legislative and regulatory activities for the firm and lobbies to the Kentucky State Legislature on behalf of Dinsmore's clients. His experience includes working as a congressional intern, a congressional campaign staffer and most recently as the legislative liaison for the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet (EEC).

As legislative liaison with the EEC, he worked with the cabinet secretary to promote the Cabinet’s legislative agenda by tracking legislative activities and fostering relations with the Kentucky Legislature and the governor’s office.
