David Kurzweil Co-Chairs the firm’s Global Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice and is the Co-Chair of the Financial Institutions Practice. David has 30 years of experience representing corporations, partnerships, and financial institutions. He provides innovative strategies to clients across a wide range of industries, including energy, retail, health care, technology, manufacturing, cable television, publishing, real estate, transportation, and professional corporations. With wide-ranging experience in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, David represents financial institutions, hedge funds, debtors, creditors’ committees, and trustees. He has negotiated workouts from both the standpoint of counsel for the creditor and the debtor. In addition, he frequently represents financial institutions and companies in out-of-court debt restructurings. David also represents financial institutions in all types of financing, including asset-based loans and debtor-in-possession financing transactions.

David has played a key role in numerous restructurings, including C&J Energy Services, Ltd.; Ryckman Creek Resources, LLC; Buffetts, LLC; Buccaneer Energy Ltd.; KiOR Inc.; DirectBuy Holdings, Inc.; Piccadilly Restaurants, LLC; GTM Energy Partners, LLC; Bruno's Supermarkets, LLC; Atlantis Plastics, Inc.; Carraway Methodist Health Systems, Inc.; Tom’s Foods; and Centennial Healthcare Corporation.  The C&J Energy Services, Ltd. restructuring was named one of Turnarounds & Workouts’“Success Restructurings 2016”, and “2017 Corporate Turnaround of the Year” by Global M&A Network.
