Ethan Floyd

Professional Biography

Ethan Floyd is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP, based in the firm’s Silicon Valley office, where he is a member of the firm’s Corporate Practice. Ethan represents a wide range of investors, venture capitalists and investment banks in the buying and selling of companies. He also has experience assisting a variety of businesses at all stages of their life cycles. Ethan prides himself on his ability to offer superior work product that is always practical, cost-effective and specifically tailored to each client’s specific circumstances.

Before joining Foley, Ethan was a corporate associate at a boutique law firm in Palo Alto, California, where he functioned as the main associate for corporate financings at all stages of a company’s life cycle. Ethan performed diligence for a wide variety of companies, assisted with the winding up and dissolutions of several entities, formed several private equity funds, and served as counsel on a cross-border M&A transaction and a joint venture deal.

Previously, Ethan was a corporate associate for a global law firm in Palo Alto, where he also assisted in the development of a matrix that analyzed the ICO and crypto-currency regulations of over 60 countries to help facilitate clients in their offerings, and created a comprehensive update on the status of D&O liability under insurance policies for new companies.

While in law school, Ethan also worked as a legal aid trial assistant for an Aboriginal legal service in Wollongong, Australia. Ethan interviewed incoming clients to record the details of their individual cases. He visited various jail cells to assist several trial attorneys with preparing each client for their court appearance, reviewed evidence for criminal trials, filed motions with the court on behalf of the trial attorney, attended juvenile court to interview parents and their children, and prepared memos for trial attorneys to help them evaluate their cases.
