Health and Fitness Law Blog

The Health & Fitness Law Blog serves as a resource for those in the health, fitness, wellness and nutrition industries. Posts cover a wide variety of topics and are meant to be particularly valuable to owners and operators of health and fitness clubs, gyms and group fitness studios. The blog also explores trends and common legal issues in the health and fitness industry along with the brands and companies leading change. The blog is maintained by two primary authors: Aaron Werner and Chelsey Ziegler.

Aaron advises a variety of health, fitness and food companies across the U.S. His clients range from franchised fitness studios and club facilities to nutritional supplement and organic food companies. He works with clients on day-to-day corporate needs in addition to unique, nuanced transactions. Aaron’s clients are either high-growth companies or companies with high-growth potential that value having an attorney on call who doesn’t “over lawyer” and understands both their short- and long-term objectives. In his spare time, Aaron enjoys working out at his neighborhood fitness club and hiking with his wife.

Chelsey is zealous about living a healthy and balanced lifestyle and has explored many fitness formats and health clubs throughout Chicago and Miami. Chelsey’s passion for yoga eventually led her to become a certified yoga teacher, and while obtaining her teacher certification, Chelsey frequently found herself counseling other yogis about forming their own businesses and best legal practices. Today, Chelsey serves a growing community of clients who depend on her for risk-management  and capital-raising guidance as these businesses strive to help people live healthier lives.
