Jean Marie Bertrand is special counsel in Cadwalader's Tax Group. Her practice focuses on federal income taxation, with an emphasis in structured financial products, investment fund structuring, cross-border lending transactions and other types of financings.
Jean also advises regularly numerous public charities, private foundations and other tax-exempt organizations on structural and operating issues, including domestic and international grantmaking, fundraising, unrelated business tax issues and transactional matters.
A member of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association, Jean co-authored “To Disclose or Not to Disclose: Tax Shelters, Penalties and Circular 230 in 2012”, Practicing Law Institute (2013) (with Linda Z.
