Jon Anderson is the Madison office managing partner and a shareholder in the Labor & Employment Practice Group, a team he led for over ten years. He represents management in all aspects of human resource, labor, and employment law matters. In addition, Jon is a member of the firm’s Health Care Practice Group, representing health care institutions and hospital systems in their employment and collective bargaining matters. Jon also has a robust practice representing business cooperatives.
Jon brings years of experience and a practical no-nonsense approach to advising employers in labor and employment matters, and in helping them defend decisions they make concerning their employees. Jon counsels employers on matters involving employee discipline, personnel administration, employment discrimination and wage/hour claims, and in resolving matters arising under a wide range of state, federal and local discrimination and workplace laws including Title VII, the ADEA and the ADA.
Jon has extensive experience advising both union and non-union employers concerning their rights and obligations under the National Labor Relations Act. He is frequently engaged to help employers define and attain their collective bargaining goals. On behalf of management he has negotiated over 200 labor contracts in a variety of industries and has worked with the Teamsters, SEIU, OPEIU, IBEW, AFSCME. UFCW and other unions on collective bargaining and labor contract administration issues. Jon also routinely counsels employers on policy development, union elections and other personnel matters and regularly represents management in grievance arbitration proceedings. Jon also represents management in mediation proceedings and unfair labor practice hearings arising in a union setting.
