Jonathan J. Tong

Mr. Tong focuses his practice on counseling investment advisers, private fund managers, and broker-dealers as well as hedge funds, private equity, venture capital and other private investment funds. He advises his clients through fund formation, state and federal registration issues, and a wide variety of regulatory and compliance matters involving state and federal securities laws. He represents public pension plans and other institutional investors in connection with their investments in private investment funds.

Additionally, Mr. Tong has extensive consulting and planning experience in a wide range of state and local tax matters, including income tax, franchise tax, sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, property tax, transfer tax, and other state and local taxes. He is also active in investments related to the newly established Opportunity Zones following the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 for long-term investments and development in low-income urban and rural neighborhoods.
