Marques P.D. Richeson

Professional Biography

Marques Richeson is a results-oriented litigator who advocates efficiently, effectively and proactively for his clients. He handles significant, bet-the-company litigation representing clients in federal and state courts throughout the country, at both the trial and appellate levels. His areas of expertise include complex commercial litigation, mass tort and products liability litigation, class actions and multidistrict litigation. He recently served on multiple trial teams in mass tort cases involving personal injury claims.

Marques is very active in pro bono efforts, and has represented individuals in clemency, death penalty and innocence cases. He has also advocated for nonprofit organizations, as well as business and trade associations, filing amici curiae briefs in the US Supreme Court and federal appellate courts, and submitting comments on proposed legislation.

Prior to joining the firm, Marques worked at an international law firm in Washington DC. Before that, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Henry Coke Morgan, Jr. of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

In recent years, Marques has been recognized by Ohio Super Lawyers as a Rising Star among area litigators. He has also been named on the “40 Under 40” list by Crain’s Cleveland Business, in recognition of his substantial contributions to Cleveland’s business and civic communities.

Marques is a member of the board of directors of the Squire Patton Boggs Foundation, which promotes the role of public service and pro bono work in the practice of law and the development of public policy.
