Megan J. Ellis is a special counsel and real estate business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. Megan has over fifteen years experience representing developers, national and international businesses, investors, property owners and financial institutions, in the areas of commercial and residential real estate development, golf course, recreational amenity and resort development, shopping center and retail development, leasing, and commercial lending. Megan is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice and the Hospitality, Resort & Golf Industry Team.
Megan has substantial experience in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition and disposition of office, retail, hotel, golf and multi-family properties, commercial leasing, and commercial and residential development projects. She regularly assists clients in negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements, leases, and operating contracts. In addition, she has extensive experience in all aspects of the due diligence process. Megan also regularly represents lenders and borrowers in connection with commercial lending transactions, including construction financing, term-lending and asset-based lending.
In addition to working at Foley, Megan’s career includes an in-house senior real estate counsel position for Publix Super Markets, Inc., a private company.
