As a partner in the firm’s Business Litigation group, Meredith represents corporations and individuals in North Carolina’s state and federal courts. Although Meredith handles a wide variety of matters, she has deep experience in these areas:
State and federal class actions. Meredith has extensive experience with all aspects of class action defense in the consumer context, including: fighting class actions through early dispositive motions; defeating class certification in state and federal courts; positioning cases for victory on the merits; and, when appropriate, negotiating and obtaining court approval for class action settlements.
Fiduciary litigation, with a particular emphasis on lawsuits arising out of trusts and estates. Meredith routinely represents corporate fiduciaries, and individual trustees, executors and beneficiaries who find themselves in litigation. Meredith is knowledgeable about the unique issues confronting fiduciaries, and is particularly effective in cases where emotions run high.
