Professional Biography

Ms. Naomi Y. Kwang is an associate in the Indianapolis office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP and is a member of the Corporate Department. She concentrates her practice in the areas of general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and international business law with a special focus on assisting Chinese and other Asian companies conduct business in the U.S. Ms. Kwang also assists U.S. companies seeking to do business in China and other parts of Asia.

She returns to the firm after serving as a summer associate in the Corporate Department. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Kwang gained international corporate experience in Singapore as head of the Human Capital Division and senior officer of the Logistics & Supply Chain Management Division for the Singapore Economic Development Board; a senior associate with KPMG Advisory Services, with a focus on business strategy and performance management; and a senior executive of the Corporate Development Division for the National Trade Union Congress.

Ms. Kwang earned her J.D. summa cum laude from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, her M.S. in Operations Research from the Georgia Institute of Technology and her B.S. with highest distinctions in Industrial Engineering and Economics from Purdue University. In law school, Ms. Kwang was an articles note editor for the Indiana Law Review.

She currently serves as the chairwoman of the board of directors of America China Society of Indiana, a non-profit organization focused on promoting economic development, trade, and investment opportunities between Indiana and China.

Ms. Kwang is fluent in Mandarin and conversant in Malay and Cantonese. She is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana.
