Nava Hazan is a partner in the Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group located in the New York office and is the co-chair of the firm’s Cross-Border Restructuring Practice.
Nava's practice involves the representation of debtors, foreign liquidators and administrators in Chapter 15 cases and other cross-border proceedings. She also represents debtors, creditors’ committees, and secured and unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 cases in various industries.
Represented debtors, liquidators and administrators in Chapter 15 cases with foreign proceedings in Canada, the UK, Spain, the British Virgin Islands, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Antigua.
Represented foreign liquidators and administrators in numerous US proceedings in federal and state courts and out-of-court.
Represented debtors in Chapter 11 cases, including mining companies (with cross-border ancillary proceedings), a manufacturer of confectionery products, a dairy producer, an apparel manufacturer and an airline company.
Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors for an oil and gas company, steel manufacturing companies, a mining company, a telecommunications company, a publishing company, a satellite and cable television company, and a manufacturer of cameras and instant film.
Represented a private equity firm in a loan-to-own transaction in the Chapter 11 case of a copper mining company.
Represented DIP lenders and plan sponsors in the Chapter 11 cases of a manufacturer of light aircraft, a manufacturer of refractory products and a mining company.
Represented successful bidders in section 363 sales.
Represented large creditors (and members of creditors’ committees) in Chapter 11 cases.
