RENÉ Y. QUASHIE is a Senior Counsel in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice, in the firm's Washington, DC, office. He focuses his practice on federal regulatory and administrative health care matters, including Medicare and Medicaid, legislative and health policy, privacy and security, general compliance, clinical research, health information technology, FDA issues, and telemedicine.

Mr. Quashie's experience includes:

  • Advises clients on regulatory compliance, reimbursement, coverage, and policy issues related to the use of telehealth, mobile health, and related information technology platforms
  • Advises clients on compliance with state and federal laws affecting telehealth and e-health, including issues related to practice of medicine/scope of practice, licensure, prescribing, reimbursement and coverage, privacy, and risk management
  • Representing clients in federal regulatory health care matters, including Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues, Medicare coverage and coding issues, Medicare contractor review audits, and Medicare pilots and demonstration programs
  • Counseling all types of health care providers, integrated delivery systems, and provider trade associations, coalitions, and other organizations on health reform implementation issues
  • Counseling clients on federal legislative and regulatory health care matters involving oncology, nuclear medicine, and medical devices
  • Representing clients in Medicare Part A appeals before administrative agencies, Medicare Part B appeals, and HCPCS coding matters
