Richard B. Emmons, PhD

Richard advises individual inventors, companies of all sizes, and academic institutions working in the life sciences and medical device art areas on intellectual property matters. Richard’s experience includes US and foreign patent preparation, prosecution, due diligence as well as the preparation of patentability, infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate opinions.

He has helped clients protect inventions involving protein and small molecule pharmaceuticals, antibody therapeutics, vaccines, gene therapy, genetic engineering, antisense technology, genomics, tissue regeneration and organogenesis, stem cell–derived technologies, lead compound discovery and development, model organ screening assays for gene and drug discovery, drug delivery systems, nucleic acid– and protein chip–based technologies, bioinformatics analysis, nanobiotechnology, biological imaging, medical devices, microfluidics, and biofuels.
