Professional Biography

Gordon is a Shareholder in the firm’s Litigation and Employment Law Groups, and is the firm's Assistant General Counsel for Labor and Employment matters. His practice primarily involves employment litigation and counseling, as well as noncompete litigation and general commercial litigation.

In his employment practice, Gordon advises, represents and defends corporate clients in a broad spectrum of employment-related issues. Gordon has successfully defended clients in a wide variety of employment-related litigation, but also provides proactive counseling and solutions to help clients manage their employees and avoid litigation. Gordon also represents clients in commercial litigation, including restrictive covenant, trade secret, business, and insurance litigation. Gordon has represented clients in the automotive, banking and credit union, construction, health care, information technology, insurance, manufacturing, real estate development, restaurant, software development, and staffing industries.

Gordon is A-V Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named to Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation – Labor and Employment.  He is active in both professional and Bar-related activities. He is currently serving on the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s (HCBA) Board of Directors (2010-Present) and is active in the Defense Research Institute’s Labor & Employment Section. Gordon has previously served as the Secretary of the HCBA Board of Directors (2006-07), as a member of the HCBA Board of Directors (2005-06), and the HCBA Leadership Institute's inaugural class. Gordon was also very active in the HCBA Young Lawyers Division, serving on its Board of Directors for several years and as its President in 2005-06. Gordon has also served on The Florida Bar’s Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee and as a member of the Justice William Glenn Terrell and The First Central Florida American Inns of Court.

Gordon is active in the community where he has served on the Boards of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, the Culbreath Bayou Neighborhood Association and the Robinson High School Foundation. He has been involved with the Vanderbilt Alumni Association for several years.
