Sahar Shiralian

Employers rely on attorney Sahar Shiralian to provide advice and counsel on day-to-day and constantly evolving labor and employment law issues. Sahar’s goal is to prevent employment disputes before they happen. But when discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or PAGA matters arise, Sahar defends employers in such matters by using creative litigation strategies.

Sahar litigates the full spectrum of employment disputes on behalf of management and employers before state and federal courts, in alternative dispute resolution venues, and before state and federal administrative agencies. Sahar has experience representing clients in actions alleging race, age, sex, sexual orientation, and disability discrimination; sexual harassment; wrongful termination in violation of public policy; whistleblower retaliation; violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act and California wage and hour regulations; and violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act.

As an advisor, Sahar provides pre-litigation counseling on issues such as general strategy and compliance, wage and hour laws, harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, leaves of absences, reasonable accommodations and ADA compliance, whistleblower complaints, worker classification (exempt, non-exempt, or independent contractor), and other personnel issues. Her experience as a litigator assists employers in spotting and resolving the issues that often result in costly lawsuits.

Sahar also focuses on the transactional aspects of employment law, such as drafting and reviewing employee handbooks, personnel policies, employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, separation agreements, non-compete agreements, training manuals, sexual and other workplace harassment policies, confidentiality agreements, and trade secret and proprietary information agreements. For employers involved in corporate transactions, Sahar provides due diligence support.

In addition, Sahar conducts workplace investigations, sexual harassment prevention training, and other management training. She is a frequent speaker on a variety of employment law topics, such as COVID-19 compliance and preventing discrimination and harassment in the workplace.
