Susan E. O’Banion is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Chicago office. She focuses her practice on tax matters.
Susan previously worked at a “Big Four” accounting firm, where she focused on international tax. She has drafted numerous technical memoranda concerning cross-border Subchapter C restructurings; developed and utilized thin capitalization models; and supervised teams of junior tax consultants.
Susan received her LL.M. in taxation in 2013 and her J.D. in 2012, both from Northwestern University School of Law. While in law school, she served as comment editor for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. She earned a B.S. in business from Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2009.
Susan is admitted to practice in Illinois and Indiana
