Are Undergraduate Students Also Employees? New NLRB General Counsel Opens the Door to Work-Study Students and College Athletes Joining Labor Unions

Webinar, Hosted By Robinson & Cole LLP

Thursday, January 27, 2022 - 5:00 AM

Efforts to afford undergraduate students the right to form labor unions and require universities to bargain have gained momentum. This webinar will review recent labor law developments that would afford certain undergraduate students rights under the National Labor Relations Act and could require private colleges and universities to bargain with labor unions representing undergraduate students, such as work-study students and athletes. Is your organization prepared? The speakers will highlight the status of National Labor Relations Board decisions on the subject, as well as recent cases and a memorandum from the NLRB’s General Counsel that could alter how colleges and universities must deal with their students.
