Changing Climate and Changing Business Practices: How Manufacturers Are Adapting

Webinar, Hosted By Ballard Spahr LLP

Friday, December 14, 2018 - 5:00 AM

We are pleased to present the third program in our webinar series, “The Evolving Manufacturing Industry: Legal Developments, Challenges, and Opportunities.” Manufacturers are leaders and innovators. Those qualities are in great demand today as the industry responds to the increasingly acute need for environmental stewardship.

Under the banner of “sustainability,” manufacturers are increasing efficiency, reducing consumption, emissions, and waste, and developing new products to help their customers to do the same. Join us for a discussion of voluntary sustainability programs—what drives them and how they reflect the values of the companies that develop them. We will examine how some leaders in the field are taking action in response to customer and investor demands, as well as their own corporate ethics. Our panel will feature the leaders of the sustainability programs at Shaw Industries, one of the largest US flooring manufacturers, and Saint-Gobain, a global manufacturer of building materials and advanced materials. We will also be joined by the director of energy and resources policy at the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), who led the NAM in forging two sustainability in manufacturing partnerships with the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency.
