HIPAA Investigations: What You Need to Know From the Investigator’s Perspective

Virtual Conference, Hosted By Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP

Friday, April 28, 2017 - 3:00 AM

HIPAA enforcement continues to increase dramatically. Ransomware attacks and privacy and security breaches in the healthcare sector have skyrocketed. The 21st Century Cures Act was passed last year and includes changes to HIPAA requirements. All of these developments create challenges for HIPAA covered entities and their business associates and subcontractors, which are now directly covered by HIPAA.

Womble Carlyle attorney Jill Girardeau will facilitate a conversation with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights investigators Emily Crabbe and Alison Fuller. Crabbe and Fuller focus their work on HIPAA-related information security and data breach cases.

This event will be useful for those subject to HIPAA, including health care providers, health plans, and contractors and vendors who provide services to health care providers and health plans.
