How to Make CJR a Success — Implementing a Winning Strategy

Approximately 800 hospitals in nearly 70 U.S. Metropolitan Statistical Areas must now comply with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model.

This model requires planning and implementing a combined physician/post-acute care strategy and network of collaborators to share gains and losses for the 90-day post-discharge period of at-risk patient care.

Christopher and Frederick will be joined by Duncan Sibson, Vice President, Remedy Partners and Elizabeth Sheehan, Vice President, Remedy Partners and will discuss how to employ CJR, by phase, in an organized fashion within your organization.

Topics will include:

  • How health systems can set the foundation for CJR modeling by benchmarking costs

  • How to aggregate/disaggregate cost and quality data analytics

  • How to balance delegating upside and downside risk

  • How to implement the fraud and abuse waivers available under CJR

  • How to select the appropriate quality metrics for gainsharing
