Implementing the Human Trafficking Rule
Webinar, Hosted By Covington & Burling LLP
Tuesday, December 15, 2015 - 5:00 AM - Tuesday, December 15, 2015 - 6:30 AM
Earlier this year, the new human trafficking rule significantly increased obligations on federal contractors and subcontractors to detect, prevent, and report human trafficking violations. Although this rule has been in effect for nearly 10 months, many questions remain concerning its implementation and enforcement. This webinar seeks to address the ongoing challenges that contractors face in implementing the new human trafficking rule.
The Covington Government Contracts group will be joined by Verité, a global NGO with extensive knowledge and on-the-ground experience addressing human trafficking concerns and performing due diligence in supply chains worldwide. Verité is a true expert in trafficking issues, having analyzed the risk of trafficking in persons in federal and corporate supply chains throughout the world and has been tasked by the government to draft a model trafficking compliance plan.
Covington and Verité will provide insight on the following common questions:
-
What does the rule require of my company?
-
How should my company revise internal policies to address the rule?
-
What are my company’s obligations to monitor and report compliance?
-
How are contractors addressing the flow-down requirements?
-
When is a compliance plan required and what should it contain?
-
How should my company perform supply chain due diligence?
