Navigating Virginia’s First-In-The-Nation COVID-19 Workplace Safety Regulations For Businesses [Webinar]

Webinar, Hosted By Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP

Wednesday, July 29, 2020 - 6:00 AM - Wednesday, July 29, 2020 - 6:30 AM

On July 15, Virginia became the first state to adopt workplace safety regulations to address COVID-19. Gov. Ralph Northam announced the emergency measure as a critical part of stopping the spread of the virus and driving sustained economic recovery throughout the Commonwealth. The regulations will go into effect as early as July 27th and apply statewide to all private businesses subject to the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) Program.

At their core, these regulations mandate appropriate personal protective equipment, sanitation, social distancing, infectious disease preparedness and response plans, record keeping, training, and hazard communications. They also require employers to notify employees if a co-worker tests positive for COVID-19, to develop and implement flexible sick leave policies and return-to-work policies, and to protect employees from adverse employment actions for raising reasonable concerns about infection control. What do you need to do to get your organization ready?

Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys Victoria Bruno and Mason Freeman will:
* Highlight key requirements of Virginia’s new emergency COVID-19 regulations.
* Provide practical tips and advice on how to bring your organization into compliance.
* Answer questions on enforcement and other liability issues.
