The New Overtime Rules Are Coming – Are You Ready?
Employers, your world is about to change. On July 6th, the Department of Labor issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that raises the overtime regulation salary exemption levels for white collar workers to more than double the current levels. That means that nearly 5 million workers will become eligible for overtime when the Final Rule hits, likely sometime in 2016. In addition, the duties test for white collar workers will undergo simplification changes, likely reducing the number of overtime-exempt employees even further. With all these changes set to come about, how can employers prepare?
