Return to Work Webinar Series for Employers: Remote Work Considerations?

Webinar, Hosted By Jones Walker LLP

Thursday, March 18, 2021 - 6:00 AM

The COVID-19 pandemic has put unprecedented strain on organizations of all sizes across all industries. The uncertainty of the “new normal” is forcing employers all over the world to consider various new policies as workers return to the workplace. To properly navigate the complexities of these novel COVID-19 employment issues, you need innovative but practical solutions.

With the vaccination process months away from completion, many companies that shifted to remote work environments during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic still have employees working from home. While some intend to transition back to the office, many expect to maintain this option long-term. While this increases talent pools and enhances flexibility for current employees, it creates many employment and tax pitfalls for employers. Given these important considerations, employers should challenge their prior assumptions on the viability of remote work.

Discussion topics include:

  • Formal policies employers should have in place
  • Strategies to avoid the inevitable surge in wage and hour litigation
  • Tax implications for employers with remote out-of-state employees

We will also conduct a Q&A session with the speakers at the end of the webinar. Please submit your questions in advance during registration.
