Virtual Panel, Hosted By Covington & Burling LLP
Thursday, May 7, 2015 - 1:00 PM
On May 7th, Covington, in collaboration with Transparency International-UK (TI-UK), the World Bank, the International Anti-Corruption Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of International Law, and the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU), invites you to join us for a presentation and cocktail reception surrounding the new report, published by TI-UK and authored by Covington’s Steve Shaw and Jade Totman, Suspension & Debarment: Strengthening Integrity in International Defence Contracting.
This report evaluates the functionality and features of the suspension and debarment systems used by the United States, the World Bank Group, Brazil, India, and Kenya in exploring whether there are any universal or model “best practices” that might appeal to both public procurement officials and the private sector.
The event will include:
■ a presentation on the substance of the TI-UK/Covington report;
■ a panel discussion on the report’s findings and implications; and
■ comments regarding the importance of integrity in public procurement, together with reaction and response to the article.
Panel presentation: 2:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Cocktail reception: 4:30 - 6:00 p.m
Panelists and speakers include:
