In 2018 the Kaiser Family Foundation reported 56.5% of all hospitals in the United States were nonprofit. Thus, having an understanding of the unique nature of nonprofit organizations and the issues they face is critical to being able to provide the best advice to the majority of the health care organizations in the US.
