Worker Classification

Governmental entities increasingly are scrutinizing worker classification, which exposes companies to increased risk of liability. Michael Best attorneys will discuss the differences between worker classifications, such as: independent contractor versus employee; exempt versus non-exempt; and temporary versus permanent. We will also discuss the benefit implications under ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code of a finding that a company misclassified workers.
