December 23rd, both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate passed a two-month extension to the doc-fix. If Congress had not approved the extension, Medicare reimbursement would have been reduced by 27.4% as of January 1, 2012. The bill also includes a two-month extension of the payroll tax cut and federal unemployment benefits.
