iPennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) Secretary Rich Negrin submitted his resignation on October 26. Negrin’s resignation is effective December 9, 2023, and he will be taking a medical leave of absence until his resignation becomes effective. Former Executive Deputy Secretary Jessica Shirley will serve as Interim Active Secretary, effective immediately. Prior to serving as Executive Deputy Secretary, Shirly held the position of PA DEP Policy Director.
